Trek Fourth Day- Going Home

In the morning the youth got up and packed up, then we had a special testimony meeting and then loaded the busses for the ride home.  We were short one bus that broke down, so we had to load extra youth on the other busses.  Then they tried to put them back on the bus that they had gotten fixed but it wasn't fixed, so that took an extra hour.  They pulled into the parking lot and got pizza and then moved out on the way home. 
There were some hic-ups on the trip but I think the youth had a good time and learned more about the pioneers and their sacrifice and their faith.

On the third day we went to Martin's Cove,  We went up in to the cove to see where the pioneers stayed for many days while they were waiting for the storms to subside.  We then went over to see the Statues and then to the River Crossing and then did a women's pull up a steep hill.  It was a very full day.  Then we let the youth drop off their handcarts and transported them to camp.  Some chose to walk and mother hen that I was, I was uptight until they got in camp.  It was around 8:00 when the last group arrived.  By then they were starved and so they had dinner and then a family home evening and went to bed.  Well sort of went to bed, there were some still running around at about 2:00 am.  Which didn't do anything for my sleep.

Trek Second Day

On the Second Day, the Youth got to go up Rocky Ridge and hike for 14 miles.  It was a great experience for them.  We had one Company that did not get to go but they were able to act as rescuers on the other end and also have some special activities.  They were real troopers and had a very positive experience.  Hurray for the Purple company!!!  We then had a special fireside and other activities at Rock Creek Hollow.  This is a Sacred place where there are many great stories about sacrifice and service.

Trek First Day

 

For the Last Year Ed and I Have been working on Trek.  Well, it has now finally come and gone these are the pictures from the first day:

Home sweet Home.

The first night the wind blew so hard that we were awake most of the night.  Alot of the tents blew down, but ours did not.  Thanks goodness. We had 10 groups of about 42 youth plus all the adults it made about 532 people in all.  We divided the 10 groups into a Willie and a Martin Company.  Each group had a color and captain and was divided into 4 families.
